Growing!

Monroe is getting back to her birth weight slowly but surely. She was 1 pound, 9.4 ounces this morning. She has her feedings upped to 3mL/hour and is getting close to having her supplemental feeding IV removed from her belly button. Her bilirubin levels are good so the blue light turned off that helps with preventing jaundice. While I visited today she had three dirty diapers, she is eating well! Got to cuddle her close this afternoon for quite awhile. It feels so good to have her on my skin, I cannot wait until we can hold her more often. Time stops when she's in my arms and nothing else on earth matters. Today was a good day and Monroe was sleeping on her belly all curled up when we left for home tonight.

Thanks so much to everyone who has sent notes, gifts, cards and made comments. We are so lucky to have the absolute best family and friends ever. You are appreciated and help to keep us strong and positive. Thank you. Right now it's hard to have visitors at the NICU because infection is such a serious risk to our sweet baby, especially during cold and flu season. We won't be able to have anyone touching or holding her for many more weeks. Trust us when we tell you that it will be worth the wait for all of you. She is so precious and loves to cuddle. Thanks for being so understanding, we love to see you, but it's just scary right now for her to be exposed to germs.
